1924 - Born in Omaha, NE.

1937 - Moved with family to San Diego, CA.

Attended Roosevelt Junior High School,

San Diego High School.

 

 

1943 - Graduated San Diego High School.

1943 - Drafted into U.S. Army.

1945 - Set-up independent cartooning business, San Diego, CA.

1949 - Worked for Al Capp Enterprises, New York, N.Y.

 

 

 

1951 - Returned to San Diego and revived independent cartooning career.

1952 - Moved to Los Angeles, CA and worked with Zeke Zekley.

1955 - Created and sold "Seventeen" which ran 20 years in several hundred newspapers worldwide.

 

 

 

 

1960 - Created and sold "Kippy" along with brother Jordan Lansky.

1964 - "Seventeen" exhibit at the Fine Arts Gallery, San Diego, CA.

1973 - Created and sold "Lansky's Look".

1976 - Hired by the San Diego Union newspaper as editorial cartoonist.

 

 

1992 - Retired from San Diego Union and enjoyed:

  • Interviews
  • Public speaking
  • Afternoons at Starbucks

December 12, 2004
Peacefully passed away.
